【Migration Alert】South Australia Removes “Chef” and Multiple Other Occupations from the 190 Nomination List — Are YOU Still Eligible?

Attention everyone: If you are working as a Chef / Head Chef and planning to apply for the South Australia 190 State Nomination (Permanent Skilled Visa Subclass 190), please note that this occupation has now been removed from SA’s 190 invitation list.

🔎 What Are the Key Changes?

  • South Australia’s official Skilled Occupation List (SOL) has been updated for 2025, and Chef is no longer eligible for the 190 nomination category.
  • If your occupation has been removed or restricted:
    1. 考虑转为申请 “491 偏远地区签证(Skilled Work Regional)” 类别;或者寻找其他州/领地的州担保,如果那里的“厨师”职业仍被接受。
  1. Make sure your documents, work experience, English results, and skills assessment are fully prepared so you can act quickly once eligible.
  2. Stay in close contact with a professional migration consultant to receive the latest updates.

💬 A Reminder for Those Preparing to Apply

Migration policies change all the time — and the Skilled Occupation List is one of the most volatile components. Even if you work in a “high-demand” occupation, you cannot rely on it staying open forever. If Chef is your pathway: 👉 Check your eligibility immediately. 👉 If blocked, pivot early — explore other states, switch visa subclasses, or strengthen other criteria.
